Principal’s Points:
It’s a new month and our next “Fruit of the Spirit” to celebrate is “Joy.” We are hoping many cards will be deposited on our suggestion box with comments on catching people showing a positive attitude and joy with plenty of smiles!

We celebrated “Love” last month by handing out a red peach to each student as they were dismissed last Friday. Our assembly had close to twenty students come up front as they were “caught” showing their love for others.

A huge “Thank You” to all who came out and supported our school last week. Because of the dedication of so many parents, students, staff, and church members our school earned $545! The food was great and the socialization with our church/school family was even greater!

A generous donation of $500 has been given to help support the Robotics team, and they aron their way to being able to pay for a second team so that all of the Robotics students can participate in the competition in the spring. $500 more is needed, as well as expenses for shirts and travel to the competition. Our next Spirit Day is September 27. It will be “Sports Team Day”. This notice is to give you plenty of time to locate a shirt from your favorite team to show your support. September 27 will be a no uniform day for those who participate.

There are times when your child is ill and requires medication to be administered at school. No medications, including over-the-counter medicines such as cough drops, can be given to any student without the written consent of the parent or legal guardian. If your child requires medication, please stop by the office and fill out a medication form for your child. Medication should never be sent to school in your child’s possession. Please take it to the office and personally hand it over to the secretary. Thank you!

Even though it is still early in the school year, illness has begun to creep in. Please follow the following guidelines regarding illness: If your child is stricken with vomiting, diarrhea, or fever, he/she may not return to school until they are symptom free for 24 hours without the use of medications. If your child comes down with one of the above-mentioned illnesses while at school, you will be contacted to come pick him/her up. Please be certain the proper contact numbers are on file in the office in case you must be notified about any issue regarding your child.

Please remember that September 20 is a half day of school due to teacher meetings. It is counted as a regular school day and your child should be in attendance. Please plan now to make arrangements for this day if you think you may have a conflict picking your child up at 11:30 on the 20th. The day care will be open if you need their services.

There have been several students who have announced that they are riding with another student after school. This is causing confusion for the dismissal staff. Unless your child rides with an individual on a scheduled basis, EAS policy is that a written note be supplied to the office so that we are fully informed of who your child is to ride with. In addition, please stop by the office and check to be certain all drivers who may pick up your child are on your authorized pick-up list. Thank you!

Please mark Saturday, September 28, on your calendars. All EAS students will be providing the special music for the Spartanburg SDA Church during the worship service that morning. All voices combined will make a mighty choir! Come and be blessed as you hear them sing. More details will come as the date draws nearer.
