March Birthdays
8 Happy Birthday, Sarah Flores

THANK YOU, MUSIC FESTIVAL PARTICIPANTS
A great big “Thank you for a job well done” goes to each one of our EAS students who performed so well at the music festival at MPA.  You represented our school well. Also, to the  parents and teachers who played a role in driving, transporting, chaperoning, and supporting the students, a big Thank You” goes to you, as well.  The final great big “Thank You” goes to our bell director, Mrs. Robin Davis, for her tireless efforts to prepare our students for this event. She put in extra time to do what had to be done to prepare our students to feel confident and to be successful during their performance. This is what EAS is all about!

MATH TUTORING
There will be no math tutoring on Thursday, March 12. We will resume on Tuesday, March 23.

HALF DAY MARCH 13
Please remember that the teachers will be in meetings on Friday afternoon. Therefore, school will dismiss at 11:30 am that day. If your child will be using the services of the daycare, please be sure to communicate this information with the daycare and your child’s teacher. At dismissal time, your child’s teacher will know which direction to send your child.  Thank you!

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES
Conferences for 3rd Quarter will be held on Monday, March 30 (no school that day). You should have received a Parent/Teacher Conference form that gives you the opportunity to mark three times that would be convenient for you to meet with your child’s teacher. This form was sent home on Monday. If you have not returned this form, please do so by Friday.  Times will be honored on a first come, first serve basis, so please do not delay in getting this form turned in.

EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY DISMISSAL
Parents, if your child stays for any activity that keeps them at school beyond the regular dismissal time, please communicate the following information to any individuals who will be picking your child up from these after-school activities: If the child is not picked up from school at the event’s dismissal time, he/she will be escorted to the daycare. Those who arrive to pick up this student must understand that if they are unable to arrive on time they must pull around to the back of the school and go to the daycare for pickup. Thank you so much for sharing this information, for many of the individuals on your pickup list do not get our newsletters and do not know our procedures. Thank you!

SPRING BREAK
Spring break is next week (March 16-20). There will be no school during spring break. However, the daycare will be open should you require their services.

BASKETBALL GAME
There will be a basketball game at the Tryon School on March 23, starting at 4:00 PM. The bus will leave the school at 3:15 PM and returning to EAS at 5:30 PM. 4th – 8th graders will be playing but the 3rd graders are encouraged to come with their parents to watch and cheer on their team!

JAIME JORGE CONCERT
Please join us for the Jaime Jorge concert on March 28 (6:00 P.M.) at the Spartanburg SDA Church. Jaime Jorge is a professional violinist, and attending this free concert would be time well spent!  All are welcome to attend.

7th AND 8th GRADE FUNDRAISERS
Please continue to support our 7th and 8th graders through their cutlery and mulch fundraisers. They will greatly appreciate your purchases, donations, and prayers.

AUTHORIZED PICK-UP LIST
If you have not done so, please update your info on who may pick up your child(ren) from school. There have been several delays at pick-up time due to drivers arriving to pick kids up who are not on the list. No child will be placed in any vehicle unless the name of the individual is on that student’s pick-up list. Please take care of this ASAP to avoid delays at dismissal time.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
