SPRING WEEK OF PRAYER
Week of Prayer began this week. We appreciate our speaker, Pastor James Reynaert, and the message he brings to us each day. You are welcome to join us if you are able. Please note that the time has been changed to 8:30 each morning.
HAT DAY
This is the final reminder that Friday is Crazy Hat Day. You still have time to be creative and share some laughs with your classmates by wearing your crazy hat to school. Let’s make this a great Spirit Day through your participation.
MOUNT PISGAH ACADEMY DAYS
Please note that Academy Days has been moved to May 1-3. If your child is planning to attend, please update your school calendar to reflect this change.
ROUND-UP/GRADES 1-8 VISITATION
Just a reminder that you still have time to spread the word about the visitation day on Friday, February 28. Current students will spend the day in their new classrooms, if they are due to move to a new room next year. Students who are not to move into a new room will remain in their current classroom and enjoy spending time with those who “visit”.
AUTHORIZED PICK-UP LIST
Please take the time to come in to the school office and update your authorized pick-up list and make any changes or additions to reflect those who may pick your child up from school. EAS will only send students home with individuals who are on the pick-up list. Any new listings must be prepared to show a driver’s license when he/she picks up your child for the first time. Thank you for taking care of this soon.
SAVE THE DATE
Pastor Ross Knight will be ordained at the Spartanburg SDA Church on Sabbath, May 2, 2020, at 4:00 P.M. Let’s show our support by reserving this date and sharing this special service with him!
THE EMMA PROJECT
Please remember to bring coins and bills to support Emma Boughman and Emma Frank as they travel to Lesotho in southern Africa to bring Jesus to the people there. Both girls are alumni of EAS. Your prayers will also be greatly appreciated.
DR. BARRY BLACK AND KID’S PRAISE
All are welcome to join us on Saturday, February 29, at the Spartanburg SDA Church to hear Rear Admiral Barry Black (Chaplain for the United States Senate), and to be blessed through the musical talents of Kid’s Praise (grades 4-8). Afterward, you are invited to stay for the church potluck that will take place in the Stutler Center (gym).
END OF 3RD QUARTER
Third Quarter ends on Friday, March 6. Let’s continue to encourage each student to finish the quarter strong. Parent/Teacher Conference notices will be sent home later in March.
MATH TUTORING
Tutoring is Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 PM in Colburn Hall. If your child must leave prior to 4:30, please communicate the pick-up time to the school office (864) 576-2234, or Bob Kopstein (980) 248-8702.
INCLEMENT WEATHER
Watch WSPA channel 7 for potential school closings. EAS does not automatically follow Spartanburg County. There are times the county closes for reasons that do not apply to us. However, the safety of our students and families are always of utmost concern. If it is unsafe to be on the roads where you live, please remain at home where it is safe.
** If you need the services of the daycare, please also watch WSPA channel 7 for their daycare closings. The daycare may not necessarily coincide with our hours during inclement weather.
