Friday, December 18, 11:30 a.m. Dismissal
Dismissal will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, December 18. EAS wishes each of its families a merry Christmas and is praying that each family have safe holidays.
Spirit Day/Birthday Friday
The next Spirit Day/Birthday Friday is December 18. EAS asks that students come dressed in Christmas hats and costumes on that day. We will be celebrating the following December birthdays:

Christmas Program
The 2020 EAS Christmas Program will be held in the Spartanburg SDA Church on December 10, at 7:00 p.m. with arrangements for everyone’s safety. The program will tell the story of Jesus’ birth through poetry and music. For everyone’s safety, we are asking that only school family members and their relatives attend. The program will be live streamed on the Spartanburg SDA Church YouTube Channel.
Dress and costumes are as follows:
Speakers: Please dress in church level clothing with black pants or skirts and a white shirt or blouse. The speakers will be Micah, Rachel, Bryson, Gabrielle, Caroline, Jordan, Justin, Jenna, Caylee, William, Luis, Logan, Jessica, Denver, Johanna, CJ, Austin, Thomas, Hannah (please dress as an angel), Eva, and Brady.
Mary and Joseph: Please costume as Mary and Joseph. Mary will be played by Anya and Joseph will be played by Craig.
Caesar Augustus: Caesar Augustus will be played by Maddox. Please costume as a Roman emperor.
Shepherds: Please come dressed as shepherds from the time of Jesus. Shepherds are Leo, Maxxin, Joshua, Thoren, and Wyatt.
Inkeeper: Bryce is the innkeeper. Please come dressed as an innkeeper from the time of Jesus.
Angels: The angel parts are played by Sophia, Bailey Amber, Hannah, Susie, Maci, Tori, and Brie. Please come costumed as angels.
Wisemen: The wise men parts will be played by Heyden, Grayden, and Caleb. Please come costumed as wise men.
Safety: As a Christian school, EAS wants to honor our Savior during the Christmas Season in a way that protects the health of our students and families. We ask that all who attend wear masks and sit in every other pew. Children are asked to wear white masks, provided by the school, for the program. Families are asked to sit in every other pew. Attendees will be dismissed from the back of the church to the front. Please wait to be dismissed. We ask that those who attend not congregate in the foyer, but converse outside the church. Packaged cookies, provided by the Home and School Association will be provided outside the church foyer for pick up upon dismissal.
EAS Hot Lunch Program
Nutritious, plant-based lunches are available for EAS students. The cost is $3.25 per meal or $16.25 per week for grades 1-8. The cost is $2.25 per meal or $11.25 per week for Kindergarten. All lunches must be purchased in advance through the school office. Pizza will continue to be served on Fridays. Extra slices are available for $1.00 per slice. On days when hot dogs are on the menu, extra hot dogs may be purchased for $1.00 each.

Classroom Christmas Parties
Classroom Christmas parties will be held on Friday, December 18. The day will begin with a special chapel for all students and then students will return to their classrooms.
6th – 8th Grades: The 6th – 8th Graders will be having a gift exchange, sharing snacks, and watching the movie A Christmas Carol. Each student should bring a gift for the person whose name they drew ($10 limit) and cookies, brownies, or cupcakes to share (no nuts please). Mr. Claus and Craig will supply the drinks. Please bring the gifts no later than Thursday, Dec. 17 and the snacks on Friday, Dec. 18.
4th – 5th Grades: Mrs. Green’s class will return to the classroom after chapel for some fun activities and exchanging gifts. After that, we will have refreshments and end with a Christmas movie if we have time. The students have already drawn names and I’ve asked that they have their gift in by Tuesday, December 15th. I will let you know what food or drink your child can bring for the party.
2nd – 3rd Grades: 2nd and 3rd graders will enjoy a cookie decorating party and a special Christmas party.K-1 Christmas party: The 18th is a half day. Instead of exchanging gifts, each child will help provide party food items for the class to share. Each child will have a gift to open and we will enjoy a Christmas movie before dismissing at 11:30.
