We have some new students who recently joined our school family.  Emmanuel Flores joined the 6-8 classroom, Sarah Flores joined the 4-5 classroom, Caleb Pruitt joined the 2-3 classroom, and Isabel Flores joined the K-1 classroom.  Thank you for choosing Eddlemon Adventist School!

Chipotle’ Fundraiser
Come out and support our school on Wednesday, November 4, between the hours of 4:00 – 8:00 PM. 

Soccer News
The EAS Soccer team will travel to Asheville-Pisgah Christian School in Candler, NC, for a 4:00 p.m. game.  We will leave EAS at 2:00 p.m.  Drivers and female chaperones are needed.  Please contact Coach Andy Hopkins or Mr. Claus.

  • November 5 Thursday – Home game vs. Captain Gilmer Christian School at 4:00 p.m.
  • November 10 Tuesday – Home game vs. Parents (End of Season) at 4:00 p.m.  We need as many parents as possible to take on our students!  You are invited to participate in this fun annual game!

Calendar Change – Please Note
The Carolina Conference has changed the previously scheduled teacher meetings on November 20 to Thursday, November 12.  School will dismiss on the 12th at 11:30 a.m. and Friday, November 20, will be a FULL DAY of school, with our usual 2:00 dismissal.  Please mark these changes on your calendars.

Operation Christmas Child
Attached you will find the information for Operation Christmas Child that was previously sent home.  Shoeboxes will be filled on Wednesday of this week during school hours.  Please remember to bring in the items suggested for each classroom and help spread cheer to a child this Christmas!

EAS Hot Lunch Program
Nutritious, plant-based lunches are available for EAS students.  The cost is $3.25 per meal or $16.25 per week for grades 1-8.  The cost is $2.25 per meal or $11.25 per week for Kindergarten.  All lunches must be purchased in advance through the school office.  Pizza will continue to be served on Fridays.  Extra slices are available for $1.00 per slice.  On days when hot dogs are on the menu, extra hot dogs may be purchased for $1.00 each.

Lunch Menu:
Place lunch orders with the office.  All lunches must be prepaid.

6-8 Grade Handbell Choir Performance
Please mark December 5, 2020, on your calendars, for grades 6-8 will be performing at the Spartanburg SDA Church during the Sabbath worship service.  Complete details are attached to this newsletter.

Vision Screening
The vision screening that had to be cancelled last week due to the weather will be rescheduled.  Please watch for further details. 

Spirit Day/Birthday Friday
Thanks to all who participated in our Western themed Spirit Day.  The winning classes with the highest percentage of participation was the 6-8 and the K-1 classrooms. 

Our November Spirit Day will be Friday, November 20.  The theme will have a Thanksgiving Story flavor.  Show your creativity and spirit by costuming as Native Americans, Pilgrims, turkeys, pumpkins.  Join your friends and have fun!

November 20 is also Birthday Friday.  All November birthdays will be recognized.

Home and School Association News
We are also collecting the UPC labels from Loma Linda and Worthington vegetarian canned foods.  Each label is worth 25 cents as part of the “Labels Make Cents” program!   Please turn these in to our office also.

If you haven’t done so already, don’t forget to link your Ingles Card, Publix account, or Amazon Smile account to our school.   Thank you so much!

November Art Contest Theme: 
The November Art Contest theme is Mondrian Art.  The winners for last month’s art contest will be announced on Friday during chapel.

Soccer Team Practices
Soccer team practices, for grades 5-8, will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:15 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Hand Bell Class Schedule
Hand Bell Choir is mandatory for all 4th-8th grades and counts for their music grade.  The schedule is as follows:

  • 6th-8th:  Mon. & Wed. 1-2 p.m.
  • 4th-5th: Tues. & Thurs. 1-2 p.m.

Riddle Me This!
I left my campsite and hiked south for 3 miles. Then I turned east and hiked for 3 miles. I then turned north and hiked for 3 miles, at which time I came upon a bear inside my tent eating my food! What color was the bear?
