The 6th-8th grade’s first performance of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech was Sabbath, Feb. 27, at the Spartanburg SDA Church. The powerful performance brought audience members to tears.
Our next performance is this Sabbath, March 6, at the Greenville SDA Church Family Life Center located at 1702 E North St., Greenville, SC, 29607. Students need to be at the church no later than 10:15 a.m. Young men should wear black dress pants, white shirts, and black belts and dress shoes. Mr. Claus will supply black bow ties. The young ladies should wear a black skirt, white blouse, and black dress shoes. They may also wear a black dress. We need as many parents as possible to drive that day. Students and parents are invited to bring a change of clothes and food for a picnic after the church service at Paris Mountain State Park located at 2401 State Park Rd, Greenville, SC 29609. Admission to the park is $6 adults; $3.75 SC seniors (age 65 & older); $3.50/ child age 6-15.

Pine Car Derby Fundraiser
Spring Break is a great time to work on pine cars! New car kits have arrived at the office! Please support your school by racing a car and helping with the fundraising. The goal is to help the school purchase interactive smart boards for each classroom.
There are three ways to win! Trophies and prizes will be awarded for speed, creativity and design, and top fundraisers.
The fundraising part consists of students distributing at least twenty fundraising letters requesting sponsorships for their car(s) to relatives, church members, parent’s work colleagues, and neighbors. In the packets that each student received, there are twenty fundraising letters. Letters for requesting business sponsorships are available. Please have your student write a personalized request in the space at the bottom of the letter. If a child would like to write one letter and make twenty copies, the school can help. Those that sponsor the student can donate online, mail their sponsorship money to the school or give it to the student to bring to school.
Pine car kits are available in the office. Thank you for your participation.
UPDATE: Congratulations to Jordan Crossley for being the top fundraiser to date! She just has received over $400 in sponsorships so far!
